best dog food for puppies

As a new puppy owner, or perhaps a puppy owner to be you are on the search for the best dog food for puppies. After reading this post about the best puppy food I was inspired to add my own post about the best dog food for puppies.

What the article recommends
In the article linked to above they recommend the Purina Puppy chow, this is a fair brand of puppy food and there is even a $2 coupon and free puppy training advice sent to your inbox as your puppy grows up, you can learn more here and sign up for your coupon

Is Purina Puppy Chow the best Dog food for puppies? As far as nutrition goes I don't think it is the best out there, but the best for the dog is not always the best for the people. Dog's can be VERY expensive so some people can not afford the best dog food. From a budget stand point Purina puppy chow is the best food for puppies that is affordable. It is much better then some of the other budget options and the free dog training and $2 coupon is a pretty sweet bonus!

So what is the best puppy food? I would recommend a food that is high in REAL meat as the first ingredient, or better yet REAL food. Yes the truth is that the best food for a puppy is actual food. This can be had for some people as it is not very convenient, but think about it, would dogs in the wild process a bunch of food and add corn and grains to their kibble? No, they would eat mostly other animals. If you want to feed your dog the best food for puppies then feed them raw meat with lots of fat, just like dog sledders do! If this is not an option look for a food that has meat as the first ingredient, however these are expensive.

If you are like most people you can start your dog on the Purina puppy chow, it doesn't have meat as the first ingredient but it does have the proper mix of proteins, fat and fiber to give your dog all the nutrition it needs. It also contains DHA that helps your puppy develop a healthy brain and good vision! You can visit this link to check out their healthy start program
